Thanks to the great support of people around the community, we were able to raise enough funds to cover for half the cost of a replacemt family vehicle. At first we were aiming at purchasing a Tarago van, but some good friends lent us a Mitsubishi Delica van (which is imported) that we found very comfortable to use and so much more affordable than the Taragos. However, after much research and lots of prayers we discovered a Nissan Elgrande van (also imported) which we ended up purchasing because of its comfort, afforability, low kilometres and most importantly, it comes with a disability chair that will come in handy with Alekksis!

We feel extremely blessed and thankful with this new van. Thank you to all who supported us and made this possible!

On the morning of Saturday 29th of May, at 2am our family car was broken into and set on fire! This of course is a very unfortunate situation because having a special needs child we rely on the car to get to and from appointments and of course for emergencies. The car was fitted with an extra padded baby seat capsule as well as an extra row of two seats which cost $1,500; unfortunately this extra seat was not insured. Also, because the car was destroyed by fire and no one was held responsible, we lost the excess ($600) and premium ($683).

We are now looking for a car replacement, which is not easy because we must take into consideration special seating arrangements. We have been advised to get a Tarago van (4 doors) in order to have enough space for the children and special arrangements for Alekksis - including special seat and enough space for equipment. Unfortunately the cost of this van is far more than our savings and the insurance we got back from our 1995 Ford Fairmont station wagon that was destroyed.
